Trust & Data
How SignalScope handles your data
SignalScope was built to provide clear financial insight without compromising control over how your data is used. This page explains the commitments we make and the systems behind them.
You own your data
Your financial data belongs to you. We process it to generate your analysis. Nothing more.
Not sold. Ever.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train AI models.
Delete anytime
Delete your data immediately or schedule deletion with a 45-day recovery window.
What SignalScope does with your data
When you submit financial data to SignalScope, it is used for one purpose: to generate your diagnostic analysis and produce your report. It is not stored beyond what is needed to display your results, shared with third parties (except as noted below), or used for any purpose unrelated to your diagnostic.
The only third party that processes your financial data is Anthropic (the AI service that generates the written narrative in your report). This occurs under Anthropic's data processing commitments, and your data is not used to train any AI model.
How the diagnostic works
SignalScope uses a rules-based scoring engine to calculate each diagnostic dimension. The numeric scores are produced by deterministic logic — there is no AI involved in calculating your results.
The written narrative that accompanies your results — the plain-English summary and explanations — is generated by an AI language model (Claude, by Anthropic). The AI explains the output; it does not produce it. You can read the numbers yourself. The narrative is there to help you interpret them faster.
Every diagnostic is a point-in-time snapshot. It reflects the data you submitted at that moment. It does not update automatically and should not be treated as a continuous assessment of your business.
Sharing controls
You may share your diagnostic report with advisors, lenders, or others by generating a shareable link from your report page. These links:
- are token-gated — accessible only to those with the link;
- expire automatically after 90 days; and
- can be revoked by you at any time, immediately.
No one at SignalScope can access your data through a shared link. Revocation is immediate and irreversible — once revoked, the link stops working for all recipients.
Deletion
You can delete your data at any time through your account settings. Two paths are available:
- Immediate deletion. Your account, all diagnostic runs, uploaded data, and active share links are permanently removed. This action is irreversible.
- Scheduled deletion. Your account is locked immediately and all data is removed after a 45-day window — during which you may cancel by logging back in.
After deletion, a minimal non-financial confirmation record is retained for up to three years. This record contains only a cryptographic hash (not your data), a timestamp, and session metadata — it exists to establish that a confirmation event occurred, which may be relevant to legal claims. No financial figures are retained. After three years, these records are automatically purged.
Optional benchmarking
You may choose to contribute anonymized data to SignalScope's industry benchmarking program. This is disabled by default. If you opt in:
- only derived, anonymized diagnostic signals are included — not raw financial figures;
- no business name, account identifier, or personally identifiable information is included;
- individual businesses cannot be identified from any aggregate output; and
- you may withdraw consent at any time through your account settings.
What SignalScope is not
SignalScope is a diagnostic instrument, not an advisor. Its outputs are structured pattern indicators intended to help you orient to your financial position — not to replace professional judgment.
The platform does not provide financial, investment, accounting, tax, or legal advice. No output from the Service constitutes a professional opinion or recommendation. You should review diagnostic results with your accountant, CFO, or qualified advisor before taking action.
